Our Reconciling journey grew from our Wesleyan belief that God’s grace calls us to welcome all people fully and without reservation. Through prayer, study, and honest conversation, we listened to the stories of LGBTQIA2S+ members, families, and neighbors—and felt the Spirit leading us to make our welcome clear and forward facing to the community. This discernment led us to a congregational vote and decision to join the Reconciling Ministries Network as a public witness to God’s inclusive love.
As we have continued to grow, that same call has expanded our understanding of what “reconciling” means. Today, our ministry includes not only LGBTQIA2S+ inclusion but also a commitment to racial justice and to standing alongside our immigrant and refugee neighbors. This is the work of our baptismal vows, and part of our ongoing journey —a journey shaped by grace, grounded in love, and rooted in our Methodist identity. Today, this page stands as a witness to who we believe God is calling us to be: a community where all God’s children are welcomed, affirmed, belong and invited to grow in faith.

At Collister United Methodist Church, we occasionally have photos and videos being taken of events to celebrate the moments. Photography, videography, and live streaming through zoom may be occurring during services, ministry projects, fellowship time, small groups and events. These are often used, but not limited to, printed and electronic materials and digital/social media. While we reserve the right to record and photograph events, services, etc., we strive to use them in safe and positive outlets. We will endeavor by default not to show faces of any kids or adults without verbal permission and if you need further precaution please speak to on one of our pastors. Please understand that we cannot remove your image from live streaming events but recording of that video is never publish afterwards.
