Davis Park Apartment Pantry: Give – Bring – Serve

At Collister UMC, we believe that faith is most alive when it is shared in action. In partnership with St. Seraphim Russian Orthodox Church and Neighborworks Boise, we are joining together to support the Davis Park Apartment Pantry through an initiative we call Give – Bring – Serve.

Our work is inspired by the story of the Feeding of the 5,000, grounded in Jesus’ words: “You give them something to eat” (Mark 6:37). This simple command reminds us that God places the invitation to care for others in our hands—and that each of us has a role to play.

Give – Bring – Serve offers many ways to step into that invitation:
  • Give – Your financial gifts allow us to purchase essential items—proteins, flour, and pantry staples—ensuring the shelves are stocked for those in need.
  • Bring – Each week, pick up a bag or two of rice or pasta when you shop, and drop them off at church. Simple, tangible acts of generosity that make a real difference.
  • Serve – Come alongside our neighbors and serve in the pantry on Mondays from 5–6 pm, or help by shopping for pantry needs with designated funds.

This initiative is designed to be simple, sustainable, and open to all. Whether you give, bring, or serve—or choose all three—you become part of a living community of care, sharing God’s abundance and embodying the love of Christ in everyday life. Together, we can answer Jesus’ call to nourish our neighbors, one meal at a time. Contact Shelley Westfall for more information: [email protected]
